With access to Europe’s highest lifts, and proud holder of the best snow record in Italy, Breuil-Cervinia is one of the world’s leading resorts. More about Breuil-Cervinia

ABOUT THE RESORT

Originally a mountaineering spot, high-altitude Breuil-Cervinia has evolved into what is now a welcoming village of contrasting architectural styles, predominantly purpose-built and modern, with easy access to the slopes. One of Italy’s more lively après-ski resorts, the atmosphere is particularly vibrant on the weekends, when Italian day-trippers come to town.

ON THE MOUNTAIN

Breuil-Cervinia is all about high-altitude, cruising skiing where you can feel the wind in your hair while you drink in the spectacular views. Best for beginner and intermediate skiers, but with access to Zermatt’s more challenging slopes, the ski area as whole is hugely varied with lots to offer all levels. Heliskiing is also on the menu, as well as a large array of other exciting snow activities and a fantastic snow park.

OFF THE MOUNTAIN

While other European resorts might have more to offer after the slopes have closed for the day, in Breuil-Cervinia there’s still plenty to keep you amused. As well as a relatively lively après-ski scene, there are lots of shops to browse and great restaurants to try. For the more active, there’s a natural ice rink,  several swimming pools and some sports and spa options, too.

WHERE TO STAY

Breuil-Cervinia has an excellent range of accommodation available from 2 to 5 star including some fabulous new openings. Accommodation prices are generally lower than Zermatt in Switzerland which it is linked to. Accommodation is also available in the nearby village of Valtournenche (5 kilometres down the valley) which has lift connections to the main ski area and would suit those looking for a quieter place to stay.
